Marketing Society in Scotland – Council and Fellowship

Council MembersThe Council is a selected group of senior marketing professionals who meet to help plan and deliver the goals of the Marketing Society in Scotland. These goals are contained in the Marketing Society Business Plan for 2008.

Council members must attend at least 3 of the 6 evening meetings a year over a period of two years  and have active involvement with at least one initiative.
The 2008 Council is chaired by Malcolm Roughead of VisitScotland.

Having graduated with a Business degree from the University of Strathclyde Graeme started his career client side – first as a brand manager with Tennent’s and then marketing manager on Bailey’s. For the past 20 years he has worked in marketing services where he has helped buy and sell successful agencies.

Caroline graduated from Strathclyde University in 2001 and has gained experience in events and membership at The Chamber of Commerce before moving to The Gleneagles Hotel.  At Gleneagles, she was employed as an Event Manger with responsibility for the Diageo events including the Global Diageo Leadership Conference.  Caroline joined The Marketing Society as Event Manger for Scotland in 2007.

Louise is a Board Director at leading independent research agency Progressive, with previous research experience gained at RBS as well as in multi-national research agencies based in Edinburgh and London. Louise is currently chairperson of the Market Research Society in Scotland and is passionate about getting research recognised as a core function within the marketing sector.

Huw has been a fellow of the Marketing Society since 2005, is the chairman of the Social Events and was awarded Scottish Marketeer of the Year in 2007. 
Huw is aged 46, is happily married with a son is still an active hockey player and holds a deep affection for Deep Purple.

Richard rejoined The Leith Agency in 2002 after starting his career there after graduating from Edinburgh University. In 2006 he was promoted to the Managing Partner position, responsible for the day-to-day running of the agency and its 85 staff. He has spent his career working in communications on both the client (Scottish & Newcastle) and agency side. In terms of client experience Richard currently heads up the team that works across the Scottish Government account, plus he’s also highly experienced in financial and FMCG accounts.
