Business Leaders - The Albion Dinners
The Albion Dinners are a new initiative for 2008 driven by Marketing Society Fellow – Bill Farrar The Sales and Marketing Director of The Edrington Group. There are to be 4 dinners planned each year with objective of building relationships with organisations and professionals beyond the Marketing Society community in Scotland. A guest speaker will be invited to each of these dinners to provide insights in to specific business challenges Business Leader members of the Marketing Society in Scotland will be invited to attend these dinners at a nominal cost at a first come first served basis.

Associate Members Events
Associate Member is a category of membership for marketers under the age of 30 with at least 3 years marketing experience. Associate Members should be nominated by an existing Member. The number of new Associate Members will be restricted to 15 each year and offered on a first come first serve basis.

Associate Member Mentoring
Associate Members will be given the opportunity to have 4 mentor meetings each year with Business Leader Members of the Marketing Society. At these meetings the Associate Member can discuss in confidence any professional issues that face them in developing their career in marketing.

Associate Member Workshops
Associate Members will have the opportunity to attend 6 workshop meetings each year hosted by Business Leaders members. At these meeting various aspects of marketing best practice will be discussed. These meetings are planned for August , October , December , February , April, June.

Asanka de Silva - charteredbrands and Young Marketer of the Year 2007

Asanka has 9 years experience of working across a diverse group of companies, which include Reckitt Benckiser and Coca-Cola. In 2006 he was instrumental to growing the Pomegreat brand to exceptional levels, which has a profound impact on charteredbrands as well as the ambient juice category as a whole.

Social Events
It is recognised that social networking is an important aspect of business where new contacts can be made and existing relationships developed.

The Annual Golf Challenge
Each year a team of client members take on a team of agency members Ryder Cup style.

The Agency Team has won every year since the inaugural match was launched with Colin Montgomerie in 2005 at Turnberry.

The Annual Debate
The Annual Debate provides our members and guests with the opportunity to enjoy and engage in an important business skill presenting a well thought through argument or providing a quick witted response to others points. Various motions over the years have including the smoking ban and alcohol sponsorship in sport.

Marketing Excellence Awards Scotland
The Marketing Excellence Awards in Scotland have been developed to promote best practice and the case studies provide an important membership resource.
